Golden Icons Academy Movie Awards (GIAMA) is calling on African film producers to submit their film for consideration for the 2013 upcoming GIAMA Awards.
The company says submission forms can currently be downloaded from the Golden Icons Academy Movie Awards website.
Only movies produced and released between July 2012, and June 2013, would be entered for the 2013 Golden Icons Academy Movie Awards.
In submitting films for GIAMA Awards’ consideration, the films’ owners are deemed to have conveyed to the GIAMA organization the right to choose excerpts from the film at the GIAMA’s sole discretion for incorporation into the GIAMA Awards telecast for the year in which the film is in competition.
Every submission shall be conditioned upon the delivery to the GIAMA representatives in a form of a DVD or any format that is easily viewed.
Owners of nominated films are obligated, if requested, to submit to GIAMA, the preview copy in a DVD format no later than five days following the nominations announcements.
The official entry forms, accompanied with a cast and credits list, a brief English language synopsis of the film, a biography and photograph of the director, still photographs, a poster from the film’s original release, and an original newspaper or magazine clipping advertising the picture’s run, must be received by the GIAMA reps in the country not later than Friday, June 28, 2013. Other fact sheets also may be sent to further document the submission.
Should a producer submit a movie through the respective reps, it would be shipped, prepaid, for award consideration to arrive at the GIAMA head office (USA) no later than Tuesday, July 2, 2013.The print submitted for award consideration must be identical in form with the final version in general release. Prints submitted will be retained by the GIAMA throughout the voting process. Nominees would be notified.
