Stakeholders in Ghana’s modelling industry can heave a sigh of relief with the introduction of Ghana Models Award (GMA) to honour creativity in that sector of the creative industry.
Aiming to be one of the glamorous annual award events in Ghana, the GMA will be rewarding and encouraging deserving individuals with evidential records of excellence in the modelling industry in Ghana.
GMA would be targeting models of Ghanaian origin or nationality as well as models from other countries who are active in the modelling community in Ghana.
The event will also seek to award corporate bodies and personalities that have supported and contributed to the modelling community in Ghana.
Basically the Ghana Models Awards 2013 will be promoting the ‘modelling culture’ in Ghana by strongly encouraging upcoming models and inviting new modelling talents into this highly competitive industry.
The event will also feature the launch of the Ghana Models Union, which will be an NGO with the major task of uniting all professional models in Ghana, championing the cause of modelling in Ghana, and seeing to the welfare of the modelling community in Ghana which will include modelling agencies in Ghana.
The Ghana Models Union will prepare carefully and well researched business proposals aimed at sustaining and promoting the modelling profession in Ghana to corporate bodies, requesting for support.
This will provide periodic but frequent activities like fashion shows, which will directly help in sustaining this profession.
