Ghanaian director of international repute Leila Djansi has returned home for holidays after her a successful production in Hollywood.  Sources told NEWS-ONE that she touched down in Ghana more than a week ago and has since been living a quiet life out of media attention.
She was last spotted at Ho in the Volta Region, where she is believed to hail from.
Leila wrapped the shoot of her upcoming Hollywood movie, ‘And Then There Was You’ in June.
“It was fun and a little demanding. It was an all star cast so I had to work extra hard as a director. I’m not sure yet when we’ll release. Thank God the film has distribution already, so it’s up to the studio,” she told NEWS-ONE a month ago.
‘And Then There Was You’ is a Turning Point Pictures production in association with OHTV, headed by Akin Salami and Michael Djaba.
It stars a number of Hollywood big names including actress Garcelle Beauvais who stars in the film as a teacher who has to pick up the pieces of her life after her husband leaves. When she falls for a new man, she discovers he, too, has possible relationship-ending secrets.
Also in the film are Lynn Whitfield, Greg Vaughan, Leon Robinson, Kate Nauta, Brian White and Trilby Glover.
Leila Djansi wrote the script while Suzanne Patrick, Ryan Daly and Tim Taylor are producing the movie and Dave Harper is the executive producer.
Ghana’s art director Tony Prince Tomety was flown to the USA to work on the production. No Ghanaian actor has made it on the set. Nollywood actor Jim Iyke and Nigerian born American actress Ebbe Bassey also played supporting roles in the film.
Shooting started in May in Los Angeles and lasted for three weeks but underwent six months pre-production.
