Accra-based entertainment company Candid Entertainment, on Monday July 1, brought entertainment to the doorsteps of underprivileged children at the New Life Orphanage at Nungua. The company held a day long funfair activity for the children to engage in different fun activities.
The children were served with good food and also danced to all manner of music. Ghanaian music legend Akosua Agyapong thrilled the children with her dance steps just as she also engaged the children to show off their dance skills in a dancing competition.
Other artistes who passed though to support the funfair were Charles of Echo fame and Quarmy Zaggy.
It was indeed an exciting moment for the children, as Candid entertainment also donated some items worth millions of Ghana cedis to the orphanage.
Among items donated were fabrics, soft drinks and cartons of bottled water.
The new life orphanage is one of Ghana’s homes, which take good care of underprivileged children. It was establish over some 12 years ago with the aim of getting orphans off the street and giving them some level of education.
Last Monday was the turn of Candid Entertainment, an event marketing and promotion company based in Dansoman, a suburb of Accra.
“Today is a holiday and people are having fun in various homes and beaches but we decided to come here put smiles on the faces of the children. It is our social responsibility to make these orphans happy,” Papa Wasty, a member of Candid Entertainment told NEWS-ONE after the ceremony on Monday.
