Leonora Okine |
She secretly celebrated her birthday in Nigeria and received tons of congratulatory messages from her pals and fan base on social networks, twitter, instag
ram and facebook. It is unknown how many years she has clocked. However, it was obvious she partly celebrated the day on set and missed one most important thing to her; spending time with her family.
“Birthday coming up but can’t be home for it. Same thing last year. Mum isn’t going to be happy but neither am I. But all good, I guess,” she tweeted days ahead of her birthday.
She similarly spent last year birthday far away from her family as she was then on set, filming ‘Tinsel’.
It has happened again and she has every reason to miss her family.
Leonora has been filming in Nigeria for a while now. Last year, she was there for ‘Tinsel’. Currently, her episodes in ‘Tinsel’are showing on African Magic. Her chemistry with Kalu Ikeagwu in the episode is tagged as one of the best. Such chemistry is difficult to come by in many, if not all TV and film productions.
She began the year filming in Nigeria for the thriller or horror ‘Jaga Jaga’ written and directed by Frank Adenkunley MacCauley.
She then went on to film ‘Love & War’, a film by the ‘Tinsel’creator Yinka Ogun and directed by Tope Oshin-Ogun. She also did the first season of thriller series ‘Married To The Game’, created and directed by Walter Banger which will begin to air on Ebony life TV. She featured on Mighty Jot Studio's horror film Kpians (Feast of the Souls), directed by Stanlee Ohikhuare.
Leo also attended this year’s Tinsel 1000 programme, where her contribution to the soap was recognized and applauded. She was called onto the stage by Victor Olaotan to stand and bow with entire ‘Tinsel’cast.
At the Tinsel 1000, obviously she felt honoured and humbled as she tweeted, “one of the things that make all the hard work worth it is the wise friends I keep making in film. Tinsel 1000 family rocks.”
She was one of the red carpet sensations at EbonyLife TV launch. Currently she is counted among Ghanaian actors doing well in Nollywood.
