Popular Ghanaian R&B singer, Chemphe has been added to Care International Headquarters Wall of Fame in the USA as one of Africa’s most celebrated artistes.
He is the first Pan-African musician to receive the recognition.
The award-winning musician has for past few years been involved in charity projects. He successfully launched his Campaign for Peace and Against Poverty project, dubbed Double P project in Accra in 2012.
He devoted most part of last year to pursue the projects, which made an impact in the Central and Greater Accra regions of Ghana.
Hence Care International in America has supported him in the outreach programme.
Care International is a global confederation of 14 member organizations working together to end poverty.
In 2011, it worked in 84 countries, supported 1,015 poverty-reduction projects to reach more than 122 million people.
Chemphe’s work falls within the project of Care International.
Now he intends to provide basic facilities to “Hasuodzie” village, one of the beneficiaries of the project.
He believes efficient education and resource allocation are part of the most strategic ways of curbing poverty in Africa.
Though the project is currently funded by his record label (E-Jam Records), he intends to collaborate with corporate bodies and media who are interested in joining the campaign.
He mentioned that though his “Global Citizen” song was getting good airplay in Norway where it was released last year, Ghana would experience the real lyrics of the song.
He said the project song’s video would be launched this year though the radio stations are permitted to play to promote the project.
