Unconfirmed reports say Ghanaian actress Yvonne Okoro will be making a debut appearance at this year’s ReelWorld Film Festival which opens in Canada on April 10.
The beautiful actress’ produced film, the ‘The Contract’, directed by Shirley Frimpong Manso, is among world class films that will be screened at the festival.
In the last twelve (12) years, no Ghanaian film was able to qualify for the film festival, which is described as one of the world’s acclaimed festivals in Toronto, Canada.
The Ghanaian actress is expected to join other world celebrities who will be attending the ceremony this year and perhaps make red carpet appearances as well.
It is also not confirmed if lead actor in ‘The Contract’, Hlomla Dandala, will also made it to Canada for the festival.
Yvonne Okoro needs no introduction in Africa’s creative arts industry. She is a talented actress and recognized as such even among her pals.
She made her screen debut in 2002 in ‘Sticking to the Promise’ produced by Theo Akatugba.
After that, she started receiving calls from producers to star in some of the best movies in contemporary times.
Currently, she has featured in over 100 movies from both Ghana and Nigeria.
She is loved for her riveting roles in ‘Adams Apples’, ‘4play’, ‘The Return of Beyonce’, ‘The Game’, ‘Agony Of Christ’, and ‘Single Six’.
She is a businesswoman and owns Desamour Company limited which engages in advertising, commercials, event management real estate and movie production.
‘The Contract’ was the only Ghanaian film that had multiple nominations at 2013 Africa Movie Academy Awards which is to take place in Nigeria this month.
